Maerki Baumann launches ARCHIP Crypto Certificate in collaboration with GenTwo

Zurich, 11 March 2024 – Innovative Swiss private bank Maerki Baumann & Co. AG has launched the ARCHIP Crypto Certificate in conjunction with leading Swiss fintech company GenTwo.

The new certificate provides interested investors an actively managed digital assets solution that can be invested in for as little as CHF 10,000. This affords an opportunity to participate in the price development of crypto assets without having to worry about setting up a wallet or trading crypto currencies yourself. Thanks to the collateralisation in place, this product is also suitable and approved for sale to private clients.

Said Dr Stephan A. Zwahlen, CEO of Maerki Baumann: “As the Asset Manager of the ARCHIP Crypto Certificate, we offer interested investors access to a diversified portfolio of digital assets and do so over a secure and trustworthy Swiss setup.”

The ARCHIP Crypto Certificate can either be held in a custody account with Maerki Baumann or with  third-party banks. It can be traded quickly and easily in the same way as traditional investment products. While the new certificate is currently available for investors domiciled in Switzerland, it has been submitted for distribution in the European Economic Area and the European Union as well.

To securitize its investment idea and turn its crypto solution into a structured product suitable for private clients, Maerki Baumann turned to GenTwo and its financial engineering platform.

Said Philippe A. Naegeli, Co-founder and CEO of GenTwo: “Thanks to its low ticket sizes, the ARCHIP Crypto Certificate provides access to digital assets to a broad range of investors. This is a good example of how GenTwo’s Assetization process can be used to expand the investment universe. In this case it helps bridge the gap between crypto and traditional finance by creating a bankable investment product on digital assets with a Swiss ISIN that can be bought by any banking client via his or her bank.”

The ARCHIP Crypto Certificate is part of Maerki Baumann’s recently launched crypto brand “ARCHIP”. This includes the wide range of crypto services that the private bank offers to its private, institutional and corporate clients.
