We’ve Got a Book Deal With Wiley!
The renowned publishers are working with us to produce a revised edition of our Assetization book. You can expect a greatly expanded and completely updated edition. The waiting list is now open.

This article is part of The Assetizer, GenTwo's thought leadership platform.
As Assetizer readers will know, two years ago we released our book “Assetization: How Pioneers Are Banking on a $78 Trillion Investment Opportunity”. We’ve been very happy with the reception. The book has gone through three printings.
That said, the book was self-published and was not written with the idea of climbing the best-seller lists.
Rather, it was our way to examine and codify everything we had learned about our approach to securitization, about innovation in asset management and the expanding investment universe, about technology and other topics we saw arising out of our business.
Assetization was the term we coined to represent our big picture vision. The book was a way to explain that vision: first to ourselves, then to our clients, partners and the general public.
(We also wanted to create something beautiful. And – thanks to the amazing work of the good folks at Studio Voile in Zurich – I think it safe to say that we accomplished that as well.)
Why It’s Time For A New Edition
Considering all the other work we had to do running our business, the original book was by necessity written fairly quickly: we went from kickoff meeting to final typescript in just over four months, and to final publication in January 2023 in just over five.
There were a lot of things we would have liked to include that we couldn’t considering our timeline. A new edition is a chance to rectify that.
Much has also changed in the last two years.
For one, our business has grown. We had about USD 3 billion in assets under management when we released the book. We have over USD 6 billion now.
That means we have gained a lot more experience with assetization, worked with many more clients on many more products, and had time to evolve and improve our technology and platform.
For another, we’ve seen a great deal of change in the markets, in the investment world and in the asset management industry.
What You Can Expect From The New Edition
I believe that a lot of what we’re seeing today supports the main hypotheses we had two years ago. With the new edition we have a chance to prove it.
Luckily for us, the editors at Wiley agree. Even better, they seem genuinely excited to support us in getting the expanded, deeper and more thoroughly researched version of the book out to the public.
Here is – as far as I can tell right now – some of what we have in store for you in the revision:
- Deeper insights from our own data and experience over the last two years
- More emphasis on practical implementation and how-to's, plus additional practitioner interviews
- Expanded research into market developments over the past five years
- A broader look at the opportunity itself, which we think encompasses more than just non-bankables and really touches the whole of private markets
- Coverage of the rapidly evolving technological landscape
With this in mind, I think that those who have the first edition will find a lot to like in the revised version, as it will in many ways be a new book. As that first edition is now going out of print, I also like to think that it will become a collector’s item: if you have a copy, especialyl a signed one, I would definitely hold on to it.
If you don’t have a copy, or have one but would like the revised edition too, I invite to you sign up to our waiting list. We’ll keep you posted and you’ll be among the first to know what it goes on sale.
Also as a special thanks to readers of The Assetizer:
We do have a few copies of the first edition still in the office. Write me at assetizer@gentwo.com and I can let you know how you can get one. Available only while supplies last.

Last but not least: I am always happy to discuss these topics with interested readers, industry colleagues, and anyone else with a stake or an opinion or a assetization-type story they would like to share.
With that in mind I also invite you to either write in the comments here or hit me up directly, again at assetizer@gentwo.com.
I’d love to hear from you.
